    The Praxis 7813: Elementary Education – Mathematics CKT subtest measures the specialized mathematical knowledge needed to teach elementary mathematics effectively. CKT stands for “Content Knowledge for Teaching,” meaning the exam focuses on how teachers use math knowledge in instructional settings, not just how well they can solve problems.

    The test assesses both foundational math content and the ability to analyze student thinking, identify misconceptions, and select appropriate instructional strategies. It is computer-delivered and includes selected-response and numeric-entry questions. An on-screen four-function calculator is provided.

    Most states require a scaled score between 150 and 160, but requirements differ depending on your state’s certification standards. Praxis scores are reported as scaled scores.
