Description

What does the Praxis Early 5025 study guide consist of?

Our Praxis 5025 study guide contains content, practice test questions, and a full-length practice test. Every section is aligned with the test specifications and blueprint. More specifically, the study guide includes:

    • Detailed information for all five content categories, so you understand everything covered on the exam.
    • A full-length practice test at the end of the study guide so that you can simulate the actual exam.
    • Detailed answer explanations for every test question so you can evaluate your skills.
    • Ten practice test questions after each content category so you can practice the specific skills for each type of test question you’ll see on the test.
    • Multiple scenarios and explanations, so you're prepared for the critical thinking questions on the exam.
    • Test tips and strategies specific to the Praxis 5025, so you can think like a test maker and pass the first time.
    • A Good Words List to use when evaluating test questions so you can quickly identify the correct answers and eliminate incorrect answers.
    • A reference guide for assessments and practices used in the early childhood classroom, so you can get the most out of your studies.

Is the Praxis 5025 hard to pass?

While Praxis 5025 is an early childhood education test, you shouldn't underestimate this exam. Unfortunately, the first-time pass rates for most Praxis exams are less than 50%.

In addition, the Praxis 5025 covers a vast amount of content ranging from early childhood development to specific aspects of language arts and reading, social studies, science, math, fine arts, and physical education.

Finally, there are early childhood development scenarios embedded throughout the exam. If you are new to teaching, these questions can be quite difficult.

The exam is administered all at once, and you will have two hours to complete 120 questions. There are five content categories on the test.

  1. Language arts and literacy - 36 questions
  2. Mathematics - 30 questions
  3. Social studies - 17 questions
  4. Science - 17 questions
  5. Health and physical education and creative and performing arts - 20 questions

You’ll need to know a lot of information to be successful on this test.

But fear not! Our study guide covers it all.

How many questions do I have to get right to pass the Praxis 5025?

It is difficult to predict exactly how many questions you must get correct to pass the Praxis 5025 because a scale score is used rather than a raw score. This means that your raw score–how many you got correct–is put into a formula to calculate a scale score.

To keep things simple, we recommend scoring at least a 75% on the practice test before you go in to take the exam. Getting 75% of the questions correct when you practice indicates you are ready to take the actual test.

If you would like to learn more about how Praxis exams are scored, check out this blog.

Does the study guide have the same questions as the real exam?

While our study guide is aligned with the test, it is against testing policy to share items on the actual exam. State tests are secure, standardized, and heavily regulated.

There are hundreds of test questions in the item banks for each exam. When you take the exam, your version of the test will be different from other versions and will have questions randomly pulled from the item banks. This ensures test security, validity, and reliability. Trying to memorize what you think will be on your test is an exercise in futility. Instead, you should study the skills and content outlined in the specifications and blueprint of the exam.

Everything in our study guide is aligned with the test specifications and blueprint for the exam. That way, you can review how the test is designed and what skills are assessed. The questions in our study guide are structured similarly to what you will encounter on test day, but they are not the same exact questions on the real exam.

Is this the best study guide for the Praxis 5025?

Obviously, we believe our study guide is the very best resource you can purchase to prepare for the Praxis Early Childhood Education 5025. Each content category has its own section in the guide. Within those categories, we’ve aligned all of the information with the test specifications and blueprint. This ensures you are studying what you will see on test day—nothing more, nothing less.

In each section, there are practice items that align specifically with that content category. In addition, we have detailed answer explanations for every question in our study guide. This ensures you know why you got something correct or incorrect. Finally, our study guide contains a full-length practice so you can assess your skills properly.

We sort every practice test question by category and skill. This will help you focus your studies and see specific areas you might need to revisit.

The study guide is an amazing resource to help you pass the Praxis 5025. However, you might need more support in one or more areas. In that case, we have online courses packed full of video tutorials and extra practice. Our online course also includes the digital study guide. If you need more support, you can check out our Praxis Early Childhood 5025 online course.

Does the study guide contain practice tests?

Yes. There is a full-length practice test at the end of the study guide, and there are practice test questions after each category section. You will have approximately 200 practice test questions to use as you study. All of the questions are categorized by skill and contain detailed answer explanations.

How long should I study for the Praxis 5025?

People have a range of skills levels when it comes to this test, so it is difficult for us to tell you exactly how long you need to study. Because this test covers an expansive amount of content, we recommend short, incremental practice over time. This is much better than cramming all of your studying into one or two weekends. Using 20-30-minute study sessions over a 2-3 week period is ideal.

What can I teach by passing the Praxis 5025?

States use the Praxis Early Childhood Education 5025 to certify their Pre-K through grade three teachers. However, every state has its own requirements for certification, so be sure to visit your state’s Department of Education website and find out exactly what you’re required to do before registering for the exam or buying materials.

What other study guides should I combine this with?

Most states require prospective teachers to pass at least three certification tests: a subject area exam, a basic skills exam, and a professional education exam.

Along with the Praxis 5025 subject-area exam, you'll be required to take the Praxis Core, which is a basic skills test.

You'll most likely be required to take the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT), a professional education exam that tests content related to teaching and learning practices, classroom management, and school law.

Depending on the state you're seeking certification in, this will vary. That’s why you must check with your state Department of Education before you purchase test prep materials.

PRAXIS 5025

The book layout and condensed information is invaluable to me because I tutor adults who are seeking certification. I have always used Kathleen Jasper books, both for when I studied for myself and now as I help others succeed

We're so happy to hear that. Thanks for trusting our resources and for helping others succeed.

Returning back as a Paraprofessional

I was a Paraprofessional for seven years and I want to return. Do I still have to take the praxis test, even though I have had years of experience in the classroom? Does previous experience account for anything when you’ve done this previously? I loved what I did but had to leave because of caring for my mother in- love and caring for my husband. They both have since transitioned. I am ready now to return to the classroom. Would I be considered a rehire but still need to take the exam? Thank you for your help. It’s greatly appreciated. Blessings to you.
