Measures understanding of place value, reading/writing numbers, comparing/ordering decimals, rounding, operations with decimals, and problem-solving. They evaluate students' grasp of concepts and application skills.

### Fractions, Operations with Fractions, and Ratios

This curriculum covers fractions comprehensively, focusing on their conceptualization as part-whole relationships, multiples of unit fractions, and ratios. Students grasp the characteristics of fractions less than, equal to, and greater than one. They understand equipartitioning, a fundamental concept for comprehending fractions as part-whole relationships. Fraction equivalence is emphasized, and various strategies are taught for comparing fractions. Operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with fractions and whole numbers are explored, along with applications such as scaling. Students build a solid foundation, moving flexibly between these concepts and honing their intuition for problem-solving.

### Early Equations and Expressions

This curriculum focuses on early equations and expressions, teaching the concept of algebraic equivalence and the use of the equal sign for relational equivalence. Students identify true equations, solve equations using the four operations, and apply substitution. The standard order of operations is followed, including parentheses and the distributive property. The idea of variables is introduced, connecting to unknown quantities and varying quantities. Students also learn to compare quantities using less-than and greater-than symbols (<, >).

### Measurement

Covers measurement by describing measurable attributes of objects and comparing objects with common attributes. Students select appropriate measurement tools, calculate and estimate perimeter, area, volume, and angles in mathematical and real-world situations, and convert between measurement units.

### Geometry

covers geometry, including shape attributes, composing and decomposing shapes, and drawing shapes based on specific attributes. Students grasp the concepts of lines, line segments, rays, and angles in two-dimensional figures. They also classify two-dimensional figures based on their properties.
